Just completed two books by le Carré in quick succession. "The Drummer Girl" and "The Night Manager". Both written in his utterly inimitable style. Le Carré goes deep, deep undercover, into the heart and bellies of secret organizations where nothing is impossible and impossible is nothing. He is a story teller with a flair. He knows how to verbalize anything. He can make you smell fear. He can bring you goosebumps as his protagonist walks in sub zero weather.
But alas, his plots lack the depth I like.
